I’ve been busy down in Houston this week on assignment with the Saint Paul VI Institute to do video work on a seminar they held on Wednesday. It was the first time I’d ever been in Texas, and I had a few fun days exploring things downtown in the fourth-largest city in the United States.
On Tuesday, I worked to get our audio-video stuff set up for recording with the local AV crew. I brought along a laptop with OBS, which I was able to connect to a DSLR camera with a telephoto lens (for close-ups) and a small USB camera (for wide shots). I also had an HDMI converter box to capture video from the laptop. Once I had audio and video feeds from the guys at the control board, everything looked great.
Wednesday was the big day, which meant recording six hours worth of lecture from both Dr. Hilgers and our luncheon speaker, Father Edward Richard. The recording worked perfectly, and I was capture everything fairly easily with my modest video setup, which was great.
